December 8, 2013 (Sunday) - What made it very special? Aside from celebrating the Lord's Day, it was the third and last day of the highly anticipated Baby & Family Expo Philippines 2013. I had a privilege to be part in spreading the word about this event and I couldn't wait to witness it with my eldest son, Ross.
We left the house at 10:00 AM and we arrived at exactly 12:00 PM at SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City. The venue was huge but it was easy to find. As we went near the area, we could see and feel the festive, welcoming, and happy atmosphere! We couldn't wait to see more!
ENTRANCE/EXIT DOORS and HALLWAY
The Baby & Family Expo Philippines 2013 was located at the right side of the SMX Convention Center. Large and colorful tarpaulins with the event details were scattered all over the area. We didn't need to ask questions about what to do or where to go.
The Registration Area had many counters to accommodate lots of preregistered and walk-in visitors. We didn't have to wait in line for too long.
STEP 1: We were not able to register online so we filled-up the registration form.
STEP 2: We submitted our filled-up forms to the counter and paid Php 20.00 each. We were given two leaflets/raffle stubs and a copy of the Expo's magazine.
What I liked about the leaflet was all the details about the event like activity schedule, floor plan, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and guests were printed. It served as a raffle stub too. A special prize would be given once we were able to visit all the participated booths. All boxes must be stamped to get the prize. In that way, visitors would not miss any participating exhibitor.
I also noticed that there was a Diaper and Breastfeeding Station, Waiting/Resting Area, slide and giant inflatable chair for kids to play, and well-maintained restrooms for everyone on the left side facing the Entrance and Exit doors. The presence of Security Guards made us aware that the place was safe.
There were huge photo booth for picture taking and wish wall were visitors could write what their hearts desire.
EXPO PROPER
Wow! The whole place was packed with people! It was indeed a fun day for everyone! We could see mascots walking around. Both kids and adults enjoyed picture taking with those cuties.
My son and I made our fast initial round just to have a glimpse of what's in store for us. Our eyes feasted on a wide array of unique and nice selections that could cater budget conscious, bargain hunters, and high end shoppers as well. It was overflowing with books, magazines, toys, coloring supplies, baby clothes, baby and kids essentials, crafts, photo companies, health and beauty products, party needs, and a lot more! We couldn't help but to roam around a couple of times.
OUR FAVORITES
Whenever Ross and I have our mother-and-son date, his enjoyment and satisfaction are my main concern.
When I asked him about his favorite part of the event, he mentioned the following:
1 Adarna House and Learning Is Fun
He enjoyed flipping pages of interesting and educational books as much as I did. We purchased books for him and a set of coloring books for his baby brother at discounted prices. Adarna House gave us free bookmarks and a catalogue to see it's latest collection. Ross also tried it's fun educational application.
2 Food, Toys, Coloring Materials
I know my son so well. While we were on our way to the expo, the first thing he asked was, "Ma, may food at toys ba roon?"
He was so happy to see and try different educational toys and filled his tummy with bacon & hotdog sandwich from Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs. He also got free candies from Lotte Xylitol Gum and Innocentemptations.
3 Space Science Program by Regulus Spacetech
Teachers Jerome, Peter, and Steph taught kids Space Science in a fun and interactive way through art. They showed that Science was a process. The teachers were able to draw answers from kids when they asked questions about the sun and earth because concepts were explained clearly while the kids did art activities.
The kids could bring home their art works and free stickers as souvenirs. Ross enjoyed this one of a kind experience very much.

My Choice:
1 Foundation and Charitable Institutions
What I liked about the expo was it gave room for foundations and charitable institutions where they showcased their advocacy. That gave a chance for visitors to know more about them and an opportunity to choose a charitable institution where they could extend their generosity. I was delighted to learn about RIGHT START and GRACE TO BE BORN. I purchased some merchandise and promised to blog about their advocacy.
2 Basic CPR by DLSUMC and New Generation of Super Moms by Thammie Sy
As moms, it is a must for us to learn about Basic CPR in order to save our family members' lives in case of emergency. It is also our duty to make our kids happy, successful, well-nurtured, and loved amidst our very busy schedule. Sitting for one hour listening to the talk made me learn so many things and let me review the things that I learned before.

I didn't let the day pass without seeing Miss Nadj Villaver, Sales and Marketing Executive of MediaCom Solutions, Inc. We were exchanging e-mails for the last three to four weeks about the Expo and I couldn't miss the chance of meeting her in person. She was so nice and accommodating! She even gave me a loot bag. How thoughtful!
After meeting Miss Nadj, we went at the hallway again, took more photos, and played on the giant inflatable chair! We enjoyed staying and we never realized that it was almost night time. It was indeed another fun and memorable day for both of us!
