Chloe Santos-Perlas' Posh Shabby Chic Ballerina in Paris 2nd Birthday Party

Posted on 09:58 by thinger
When it comes to meticulous party and event planning, I always look up to my former Nursing School classmate and very good friend, Diana Grace Santos-Perlas. She wouldn't settle for anything else when it comes to suppliers and party venue. She is a wise spender and she knows exactly whom to contact. She is the right person to ask about suppliers that are affordable but offer the best services.
Diana Grace Santos-Perlas with her husband, Philip, and daughter, Chloe
We were invited to the birthday party of her daughter,   Chloe, last December. As expected. It was a blast!

I consider it as one of the best birthday parties I've attended!
This photo was used in Chloe's 2nd birthday invites.

I asked permission from Grace if I could share the event on my blog and she agreed. She willingly gave me the list of her suppliers.

Grace said that she was hands-on in booking the party organizer and suppliers including the magician, photographer, videographer, and cake. The organizer was the one in charge in styling, photo booth, and other details because she was in Dubai during the party planning.

Here are the list of suppliers she contacted:

CHLOE'S GOWN: Yumi's Nook Child at Heart

This gown was intricately designed to match Chloe's dainty and adorable personality.

VENUE DECORATIONS, KIDDIE SOUVENIRS, INVITATIONS, PRINTABLES, STYLING, & COORDINATION:  The Party Studio

All the details that Grace couldn't do, Miss Pinky Santos-Franscisco of The Party Studio was there on the rescue!

Grace trusts Miss Pinky and her team when it comes to party styling and other party details for years. She's very easy to transact with and what makes her more special is that she treats her clients like family.

CATERER: Robert Camba Catering
Grace chose Robert Camba Catering due to its affordable package. Her mom liked the food during food tasting. Free chocolate fountain was included in the package too. Kiddie meals were also available and super sulit at masarap talaga ang food nila!

CAKE and  CAKE POPS: Sugarplum Pastries
Grace chose fondant cake instead of the one with butter icing due to aesthetic purposes. Sugarplum Pastries offer rotating cakes and other yummy treats!

This rotating cake was one of the highlights of the party.

These flower cake pops were pleasing to the eyes and taste buds.

ICE CREAM CART: Nestle
Booking and choosing of flavors was done online and the payment was done at the day of the event.

MAGICIAN/HOST: Alex Lagula
He was chosen due to raves and good reviews about him. He was the magician of most of the birthday videos that Grace watched. He could win the hearts of both kids and adults. His antics were unique and something fresh! The sound system was included on his package too.

Here is his Facebook Account: https://www.facebook.com/alexander.lagula.

CUPCAKES: Iko's Bakeshop
Iko's Bakeshop was recommended by Grace's brother. The cupcakes were yummy and affordable.

The cupcake liners and toppers were provided by The Party Studio.

Iko's Bakeshop has outlets in Caniogan, Pasig and SM Mega Mall Supermarket, Freshly Baked.

Contact Numbers: 468-9583/ 628-4383/ 409-1197

ADULT SOUVENIR: Tin Can c/o Grace's Mom & Chocolate Chip Cookies by COMFOODS

Delicious Fibisco cookies were inside.

Here's Comfoods' Main Building Address:
Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. (at Chino Roces Ave.),  Makati City

LIGHT EFFECTS: Rave Party One
Rave Party one was hired by Grace to illuminate the venue.

VENUE: DML Tent
The party was supposed to be held at Camp Crame Multipurpose Hall. It was December and peak season. The management couldn't assure the time slot that Grace wanted. She chose DML Tent instead because the place was accessible and spacious. There was also a mini playgound outside for kids to play while waiting for the party to start.

DML Tent
Address: 46 7th Street, New Manila, Quezon City
Telephone No: 722-4979

PHOTOBOOTH: Photostrip
This was included in the event organizer's package.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Bea Caisip
Grace liked Bea Caisip's works. The photographer could capture candid moments spectacularly.

PHOTO/VIDEO: Shutter Count
Grace booked Shutter Count mainly for the video coverage.  It has the most affordable package with outstanding and superb output for kiddie parties. She closed the deal during the first quarter of 2013 and was lucky to get a photographer included on the package.

The photos taken by Shutter Count are found HERE.

Here is Chloe's 2nd Birthday VIDEO as shown towards the end of the party:

GUEST POST: Kids' Artwork by Bonnie Joy Dewkett (The Joyful Organizer)

Posted on 23:44 by thinger
Children’s artwork is a bittersweet thing.  It’s beautiful and can represent a glimpse into the world as seen through a child’s eyes.  It can also be a great indicator of your child’s development.  However, artwork can add up.  Before you know it, artwork can over whelm your counters, refrigerator, and walls.  By implementing the following steps you will make sure your memories are kept in tact, and decrease the clutter.

  1. Before you do anything with a piece of artwork, decide what it means to you.  Is it the best piece your child has ever done or is it just another piece they drew while waiting for dinner at a restaurant?  Be honest with yourself.
  2. Do you have family members that live far away?  Have your child sign pieces of artwork, then write a quick note and send the artwork to friends and family who live far away.  It may sound silly to you because you have dozens of pieces, but to them it may be the only piece they have!
  3. For three-dimensional pieces of art, the easiest thing to do is take a photo of your child with the piece; keep it for a little while, and then dispose of it.  I usually suggest moving it to another area of the house, such as the garage, after a period of time.  If its not missed, you can easily get rid of it.
  4. Use frames that are easily changeable to house artwork.  Job tickets are small plastic sheaths that are designed to house contractor’s paperwork on dirty and wet job sites.  They are inexpensive and easy to hang on your wall.  Papers slip in and out quickly and easily.  Changing artwork is a snap.
  5. Pizza boxes make great artwork storage.  Ask at your local pizza place to give you some unused boxes.  Most restaurants will give them away for free.  You can group artwork by date, child or academic year.
  6. For artwork that is flat, consider scanning it in and storing it digitally.
  7. Take photos of your child with their artwork.  Then you can print them and put them into an album or you can print a digital photo book.  This gives you a printed record of your child’s progress.  Print multiple books and give them to family members.
  8. Set limits with your child on just how many pieces of artwork you will keep.  Stay within these boundaries and it will help them learn to determine which pieces have meaning and which pieces do not.
  9. Combine storage with display.  Use a string and clothespins to display a large number of items in a small amount of space.
  10. Make sure you hold yourself accountable to sit down and sort through artwork.  It will build up as the school year progresses.  Putting a date into your calendar to make those difficult decisions will make sure it gets done and make sure the artwork doesn’t pile up too high.  For the pieces you have determined should be kept and are important, take the time to have them laminated and to protect them in clearly labeled plastic containers.

My Simple and Practical Storage Tips

Posted on 22:50 by thinger
Storing food and other home materials is easy to manage by following these practical tips.
- Buy food storage containers like microwavable plastic containers or freezer-to-oven casserole dishes. You may also reuse plastic ice cream containers, screw top glass or plastic jars for storing refrigerated and non-refrigerated food.

I prefer transparent ones because food items are easy to see. When using opaque containers, make sure to label them what's inside and when it's stored using masking tape and permanent marker to avoid spoilage. This also applies to clothes, linens, rags, toys, and crafting materials for easy location. You might also like reading Practical Tips on How to Organize Stuff at Home.

- Use clothespins or binder clips to seal packages of partially used food items.

- Empty shaker bottles of some spices can be filled with flour, corn starch, salt, sugar, pepper, or your own mixed spices for mess-free flouring or seasoning of meat, drinks, or other food items.

- Wire and plastic mesh baskets or bags can be used for fruits, root crops, vegetables that need air circulation like onions, potatoes, and garlic. You might also like reading My Simple Rules in Food Storage at Room Temperature

- Empty mineral water and juice bottles can be used again for storing water or juice but make sure they are made of virgin plastic material. To make it safer, use empty glass jars or bottles. Do not store poisonous substances like kerosene, gasoline, alcohol, and liquid cleaners on empty beverage bottles to avoid accidental poisoning.

- Knives should be placed in their holders to avoid making them dull. Keep them away from children's reach.

- Store heavy cookware in the lowest portion of the kitchen rack to avoid reaching up further.
