Since I was a kid, my mom is hands-on in taking care of me and my brother. I consider her a "Super Mom"! She is indeed a master of multitasking which I am proud to say a trait that I got from her.
She was a Chemical Engineer by profession. She gave up her career because she wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. But she didn't stop improving herself. When I was four years old and pregnant with my younger brother, she opened her business to be financially independent while looking after us. She never missed any of our activities in school. She never failed to show how dedicated she was as a mom and a career woman. Because of her devotion, she had to cancel so many invitations from friends and never afforded to give herself time to travel.
My brother and I have our own families now but she is still here to support and guide us in all aspects unconditionally. I want to give back the love and attention that she deserves by spending more time with her through fulfilling her dream of traveling in the Philippines and Asia.
I am dreaming and visualizing of giving her an unforgetable travel in Davao, Cebu, Palawan, and Kalibo (Boracay) and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia before she reaches her 65th birthday. These places have a wide array of tourist attractions and historical landmarks to better understand our history, fun activities to do, shopping destinations where local products are showcased, and most of all, local food choices for our gastronomic adventure and crafts which we are both passionate about! Malaysians are one of our ancestors so it's nice to know about their culture too.

Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the most famous landmark of Puerto Princesa. This subterranean river is the longest navigable underground river in the world. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape and many stalactites and stalagmites formations. My mom would love to see this place.(Photo Credits:en.wikipedia.org) |
Boracay island constantly ranks as one of the world’s best beaches due to its famous postcard-perfect white sand beaches and breathtaking sunsets. I am imagining my mom and I taking photos with this as our background. (Photo Credits: www.photoinpixel.com) |
A picturesque night view of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is a must-visit too. This is one of the tallest twin structures in the world, inspired by the Islamic geometric shape resembling an eight-pointed star. (Photo Credits: www.makemytrip.com) |
With all honesty, traveling around the Philippines or Asia is very costly. Air fares are high and they eat up the biggest portion of the traveling expenses. Good thing that AirAsia, the world’s 5-time best low cost airline according to Skytrax has synergized forces with Zest Air, the affordable low-cost airline nestled in NAIA Terminal 4.
AirAsia was awarded by Skytrax World Airline Awards from 2009 to 2013 as one of the best airlines in the world. |
Every Filipino is now given the “Right Way to Fly” as these two will now travel together as AirAsia Zest!
According to the press release last September 30, 2013, Zest Air would be rebranded as AirAsia Zest, offering Filipinos more choices, better value and enhanced services across a combined, larger network.
Zest Air is now flying with AirAsia, The World’s Best Low Cost Airline. The Civil Aeronautics Board (“CAB”) approved AirAsia Zest” as the new brand name of Zest Airways, Inc. CAB also approved the new logo of Zest Airways, Inc., wherein the Zest name has been incorporated into the iconic red hot circle, which is the signature logo of AirAsia.
AirAsia Zest Chairman Mikee Romero mentioned that they were excited to introduce AirAsia Zest, and what it would represent. With their alliance, they were well positioned to offer their guests the strength of their combined network of domestic and international routes and unrivalled daily low fares, proving a world class travel experience that every Filipino deserves. They also hoped that this brand new look was the first of many steps towards making AirAsia Zest an airline that would continue to revolutionize air travel in the Philippines. They were geared up and committed to ensuring that AirAsia Zest lives up to the same incredibly high standards of AirAsia.
Following this approval, the airline is currently updating its records with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to include the new business name “AirAsia Zest” in its permits with CAAP.
