For visual learners, you may watch this video. You may use olive oil as substitute to leather wipes, cleaner, and conditioner.
- 4 small and clean rags
- water
- mild liquid hand soap
- olive oil
What I did:
1. I wiped the bag using dry rag to remove the dirt and dust.
3. I wiped my leather bag with the damp rag with mild liquid hand soap using firm but calculated pressure. I didn't change my rag because my bag was not too dirty. Note: In case you are cleaning very dirty leather items, replace the rag if it gets too dirty so that you are not just smearing the dirt around.
5. I wiped my leather bag down with a clean, dry rag and made sure that it was completely dry.
6. I massaged a small amount of olive oil into the leather. I poured about six drops of olive oil on a clean, dry rag and worked it into the rag. I used firm but calculated pressure to work the oil into the leather. The leather should not be darker, shiny nor sticky. I used a dry cloth to buff off the excess oil.
My old bag looked so nice and clean!I'm so happy with the results! |
